Notes:
1. The cover picture is of a supremely angry Joanne Woodward. It reflects the rage my teenage self felt at the time, plus it’s just an amazing picture. I’d love to know what ticked her off.
2. Initially, I had “Just a Girl” by No Doubt in here. I liked the song back in 1995. Now, it just makes me want to hit people. I replaced it with the Free Kitten song. I think I did the right thing.
3. The version of “Know Your Chicken” by Cibo Matto ROCKS, and was found on one of those CMJ New Music samplers, which I religiously subscribed to. It is 1,000x’s better than the album version on Viva La Woman! I guarantee it.
4. In the mid-90’s, almost every mixtape of mine ended with “Brick Book Building” by Tsunami, because it’s less than a minute long and was the perfect filler for that little bit of leftover tape.
5. Yes, I put the Blur and Oasis back to back, because the teenager inside of me fondly remembers the overhyped BLUR VS. OASIS battle. Good times!
Past 1994 mix is here. Please to enjoy. Either 1991 or 1996 is next.
